Following the government's discontinuation of its carbon credit sales, Koko Networks, a Kenyan clean cooking startup, laid off all 700 employees and ceased operations on Friday, January 30th. The Financial Times reported that the startup was facing bankruptcy after failing to secure government approval to sell its carbon credits.
