About Twiga Foods

Kenya's flagship B2B agri-logistics platform that connected rural smallholder farmers and FMCG manufacturers directly to informal urban retail kiosks (dukas), attempting to eliminate food supply chain inefficiencies across East Africa.

What went wrong?

An asset-heavy logistics model (massive fulfilment centres, cold chains, credit lines) led to unsustainable cash burn. When the macroeconomic environment worsened and follow-on equity vanished, mounting debt, vendor lawsuits, and an overdue restructuring pushed the operating entity into statutory administration.
